About Us

The Long Barn, Inc. in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania was founded in September 1973 by Edwin A. Long and managed by his brother Charles A. Long. In the beginning there were two employees and one building with the only intention being to better supply their own general contracting company, as well as any walk in patrons.

The Long Barn dramatically grew and expanded its customer base throughout the 1970's. In order to better focus on and service each and every customer, The Long Barn dissolved its general contracting business in 1980. The Long Barn II located in St. Michael, PA was established in 1983 to help service the ever growing needs of the surrounding area. Long's Hardwoods, adjacent to The Long Barn Ebensburg was established in 1990 as a wholesale hardwood division supplying both yards with high quality hardwood products.

The Long Barn, Ebensburg has since flourished into a complex covering twelve acres, more than twenty buildings and over thirty employees. It has grown into an organization with the capabilities of supplying any product needed for residential construction and remodeling along with most commercial products. The Long Barn has expanded its capabilities with numerous advancements including a custom woodworking division, advanced delivery services, plumbing service and on site door & window shop to name a few. Even while offering products and services throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, The Long Barn is proud to call the Ebensburg area home and shows its appreciation of the community it serves through numerous philanthropic endeavors.

Currently, the second generation of Longs own and operate The Long Barn, The Long Barn II, and Long's Hardwoods. They are proud of the fact that it is a family owned business operated with the continued use of the values and ethics instilled in them by their fathers. The Long Barn prides itself on service and value to every customer. With a professional and knowledgeable staff The Long Barn continually strives to supply customers with quality products, impeccable service and fair prices.
